Memories

Thinking of mom today and thought I would share a memory that I recently had that made my day, and, of course, invite anyone to share a memory or 2 of her in honor of her birth day.

My memory is that I would sometimes fall asleep before dinner - ah, yes, the blissful nap!

Mom would find me and would wake me up by gently stroking the bottom of my bare foot. It was such a gentle way to be awoken; so beautiful to just gently wake up and then see her smile and hear her say that dinner was ready. I can feel her hand on my foot now just thinking of it.

A beautiful picture. I have been remembering recently all the rock and roll albums she had Santa deliver. The Beatles' White Album, Steppenwolf, and the Kinks' Victoria. She probably didn't like them but she loved me enough to get me what I asked for (within reason of course). Miss her everyday and am constantly amazed at how she managed and nurtured us.

Hi.Thanks for the sharing you too. I have several memories that continue me make me feel grateful every day for her related to the accident I had crashing through the plate glass window at Danny Boland's home when I was in 4th grade. After I was well enough from the surgery to my leg and arm, I was told that she 'absolutely' would not accept leg amputation of my left leg as a solution. love you all. Jim

I owe my love for playing cards to her. We spent many a day playing canasta, rummy and bridge. I still play the bridge hand in the newspaper every day and think of her. Her copy of Goren is still in my library.

Love all these memories. Wow, Jimi, did not know amputation was even an option!
One of my favorite memories is how she would stop what she was doing to let you talk to her. It's funny how she was the disciplinarian, but she was always so gentle. It was worse when she would give you her disappointed look-I'd take a spanking any day instead of that look!

Is that me in the pic? If not, who?
