The Rohan Family
Greeting from CAL. Just wanted to share a few pics of the family. We are excited to be able to visit Hood River in a couple of weeks. We drive our Tesla and stop every 2-3 hours for charge and rest. Its a mini-road trip as we call it.
Sarojani is still writing, publishing some of her poetry and art. I am a substitute teacher in Watsonville, a predominately hispanic community. I am helping JR and SR graduate in a tutoring program that gets them the missed credits from the pandemic years and enjoying it. Mostly, enjoying being home and reading, gardening, and playing music. I have a graphic novel suggestion for everyone, "The Big-She-Bang."
Its about reinstating motherhood into the conversation in politics, society, community, and religious life.
Author is a breast cancer survivor with a great sense of history and humor....
Love you all. Have a peaceful rest of the year. Great to be back in school though and have the children back.

Memories
Thinking of mom today and thought I would share a memory that I recently had that made my day, and, of course, invite anyone to share a memory or 2 of her in honor of her birth day.
My memory is that I would sometimes fall asleep before dinner - ah, yes, the blissful nap!
Mom would find me and would wake me up by gently stroking the bottom of my bare foot. It was such a gentle way to be awoken; so beautiful to just gently wake up and then see her smile and hear her say that dinner was ready. I can feel her hand on my foot now just thinking of it.

I wrote a novel
I recently completed a project that I have been working on for the past 15 years...I completed a novel and Larry Jr had it published for me and then hosted a signing party in Hendersonville. Some of you were there and I appreciate the kind words from each of you. For those who were not there, the book is called the Concierge and is a reminiscence of my days in Miami, Key Biscayne and Coral Gables, during the 60's and 70's. The name have been changed, of course, to protect the innocent. The book is available at Barnes & Nobel.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
May 26, 2021: a favorite author and illustrator of mine died. When I heard the news of Eric Carle's death, I was surprised of the sorrow I felt and of the wonderful memories his name evoked for me. I spent so many happy hours reading his books to my kids (and they in turn reading them to me and anyone who would sit and listen). Visits to the local library always included one or two or more of his books chosen to go home with us. It really was a wonderful time and I will always be grateful for the memories Mr. Carle made possible for me.
He lived in Key Largo and summered in Massachusetts and there is even a Museum in Amherst to go and see his art. If interested: https://www.carlemuseum.org/
PS - Just thought I would share. Isn't this what the blog is for?
Peace / rr

Andres' Celebrating His Master's Degree
Andres' received his MFA Degree in Musicology from FSU in March, which was celebrated by his family in Tallahassee. He is going to move to Boston where he hopes to become a music librarian with one of the large concert or orchestral groups in that area. We all wish him the best as he pursues his love of music and the arts.

Interesting website
I was reading stuff on Facebook and saw that a friend of our cousin, Barbara, posted some info about Barbara's parents and their gravesites. I went on it and was amazed at the info that was there. I googled www.findagrave.com Apparently you can edit, but I didn't do that. I especially thought that Bobby, our historian, might be interested, but I found it to be super informative. The weirdest was looking at Uncle Neil's-the picture from when he was a teenager was spot on of our Neil. I must admit, I wondered if it WAS a pic of our Neil... Anyhow, let me know if anyone else gets on it and what they think. Oh and if this is one of those websites everybody already knew about, my bad!

Easter and Scavenger Hunts
Was just reflecting on Easters past and thought, "I wonder how much time we spent creating the clues for the Easter hunts and then finding them." Mom and dad must have had a wonderful break while it was going on - and probably many laughs.😊

Remembering Amy
I have been thinking of Amy this weekend – Bill and Kathy, you are in my thoughts, and I am sending a big hug your way. Today, 45 years ago, I remember driving home to Atlantis after work with mom and dad, and stopping off at Hollywood Hospital to say hello to the new parents and meet my brand new niece. She was adorable!! - a mop of black hair and such a cherubic round head with cheeks you just wanted to kiss! Final memory for this post is when dad heard what you named her, Bill and Kathy, he began singing “Once In Love With Amy” when he shared your news with us. He always did seem to have a song for everything.💟💟💟💟.

Stories wanted
Hi Everyone! I would love to have stories/anecdotes about Mom and Dad from their youth; mainly before marriage to each other. If you have a favorite one from after marriage, that's fine too. When I think about them, I really don't know much about their growing up years. I do know that Mom used to say that if we got good grades it was because of Dad's good brains being handed down. The stories/anecdotes don't have to be long, and any info is greatly appreciated. With both of their anniversaries coming up in a few days/weeks, it could be a nice way to remember them.
Love to all!
Susie
